Neks2u Label Love: ROFFIANY by Rofiat Anibaba

When it comes to fashion, New York based Nigerian designer Rofiat Anibaba is definitely making waves! Her fashion label, ROFFIANY (an amalgamation of her first and last name) features a number of versatile pieces catering to men, women and children! ROFFIANY fuses African prints to create modern looks, from customised T-shirts to evening dresses, which can be worn to any outing.

The label was established in 2008, and a Fashion Show in April 2009 launched the clothing line.

Head Designer, Rofiat has always loved and appreciated fashion. Starting with creating designs for her personal style, “My inspiration comes from so many things, for example; from my personality, from the environment, from people's thoughts and also African Fabric.”

Currently working on a number of inititatives for her label, Rofiat plans to open a studio for the purpose of displaying lovely creations from the label. She also plans to release photo and video shoots of her 2011 collection.

A love Affair - Couples wear Purple for Valentine's

King of RnB Darey Art Alade

On Valentine's day the Transcorp Hilton Hotel opened with a purple cocktail with celebrity interviews coordinated by Dare Art Alade  and Dayo Benjamins-Laniyi (DBL) as celebrity co-hosts for the evening. Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva, Nollywood's leading couple, comedian Alibaba, Cobhams Asuquo and his wife, Chief Chika Chukwunoso Okpala (Chief Zebrudaya, Masquerade) and his wife among other admired couples gave speeches on the struggles and fortune of love and marriage. 


Dare set the ball rolling with a medley of classic love songs. A live musical performance by producer Cobhams, Jazz diva Yinka Davies and Priscilla followed immediately. Comedian MC Amana and top TV presenter Eugenia Abu also added colour to night with rib cracking jokes and poetic reading readings respectively.

The No Compromise Club share some love on Valentine's

The No Compromise Club is a "platform for the youths to fellowship together, edify and build each other through the word of God and prayer".  In collaboration with celebrity compère Dayo Benjamin Laniyi, also known as DBL, the lady behind Events Company, Doxa Digital, the NC Club were able to package a special event tagged the Purple Valentine.

The Purple Valentine also included a "reach out and touch” programme for the aged and the less privileged whereby a number of elderly and aged citizens in the Federal Capital Territory were hosted on the 12th of February, 2011,  in an atmosphere of love, fun and care. It featured the distribution of free drugs  and medical consultation, gift packages containing valentine goodies (donations, contributions collected by the NC Club) and goodwill messages.

Samantha Cole Launches "Above and Beneath the Definitive Structure" AW 2011

From the Vauxhall Fashion Scout at the London Fashion Week, Samantha Cole presents an all black collection. Neks2u's love for this particular collection is the varied palette of fabrics used in each garment. The texture and pattern used in creating this fierce yet feminine collection is depicted in defined hemlines and structured shoulders.
